Dr Paul R.Hepperly

Plant doctor with a Planetary Mission

Dr. Paul R Hepperly is a world renowned soil and compost expert with a calling to be an inspirational healer.  He has a unique ability to present scientific data from his research on organic farming and to touch into the spirit of the farmer.  He has inspired audiences from Europe to Uruguay. from Africa to Asia, and from Puerto Rico across the United States to Hawaii.  He is best known for his pioneering work on remediated organic soils to combat the global warming crisis.  He takes the message of green, sustainable and save the planet to a new level!   Among his accolades are the 2004 Rachel Carson Council Sense of Science Award, the 2005 DaVinci Discovery Center Award, the 2006 Humanitarian Award for West Africa Opportunities Industrialization Centers, the 2007 Fulbright Scholar Award for Uruguay and the 2008 Princeton Premiere Award for Business Leadership.

For the last 7 years he has been the research director at the Rodale Institute combining research, education, information and policy outreach to promote the development of organic and sustainable farming and food systems worldwide.  He has also worked for the USDA and for biotech seed companies. He gratefully admits that his present work is an opportunity for redemption from his involvement with the biotech companies.

Among the many projects he has consulted on are solving the ginger wilt problem for farmers in Hawaii and Africa, creating the San Francisco all city recycle your food waste to compost program, creating a village to village sharing of composting  methods in Ghana and using plants to neutralize toxic waste.   His upcoming book highlights the economic  cost of not eating good food and advocates faith food, and fitness for our modern life.
