Mahalo (Thank you) for helping my family to heal our kinos, our aina, and to help us create a model for living pono with all who would like to learn to do so for themselves. Your donations will make it possible for us to accomplish several things 1) finish building our Living Laboratory for Living Pono. 2) Finish funding our family’s farm litigation that will protect our rights as organic farmers and as common neighbors from chemicals drifting on to our farm and that made our family sick. We know our legal efforts will help all organic farmers and neighbors protect their family's health, homes and bank accounts from the hard times my family has suffered. 3) Most importantly though, we will be able to keep buying my mom her medicine without incurring more debt.
We didn’t know how to really thank every one for their support, caring and love for us during our really challenging times. It's during these kind of times that you begin to understand what is important to you and what is not. So to show our deepest appreciation we want to share our treasures with those who are helping us. Great American Vintage Classic
One of a kind Gem!
There’s a lot of American History in this truck, it started
its life as a work truck at an upstate New York Farm, over the years as “Ole
George” (as we call our truck), required parts and parts got harder to find,
some interesting solutions were used; one such solution was replacing the gear
shift with the door knob from the upstate New York’s 1800’s farmhouse that
“George” used to belong to. We found
that so charming we left it on the truck ‘til today.
The next owner of “Ole George” was also from upstate New York. He and his son and at times the woman of the
house got involved in restoring “Ole George”, this was a family project that
the entire family, and community embraced.
It was at this time that the 1 ton custom hydro dump body was installed
with hand made oak railings. You can see
the love that has gone into this truck.
In 2004 “Ole George” was adopted by us on the North Shore of
Oahu in Hawaii, from east coast to the middle
of the Pacific Ocean, “Ole George”,
traveled. Upon arrival we were awed by
“Ole George’s” beauty and pristine condition, we immediately felt we were given
a true treasure. Over the next few
years, more updates and refinements were made from something as little as
electric windshield wipers, from the original vacuum wipers, to hand honed
engine parts so that the engine purrs at the first crank.
The V8 flat head engine is original to “Ole
George” and probably runs better now then when it was bought new with all the
TLC and precision work that was put into it by top engine mechanic on the
island. To date, we have not seen
anything like this beauty anywhere.
In 2004 Grundy, an insurance company who specializes in
collectible cars appraised “Ole George” for $120,000; and that was before the
truck had its additional upgrades.

will take care of him like the historical treasure we believe this truck
deserves.
