The GreenTalksS Story:
GreenTalksS is a result of my Mom, Aunty Clare and Aunty Tia, noticing rampant illness in our islands that looks very similar to what they were going through as a result of Chemical Trespass. My Aunty Clare got sick from a pesticide bottle that fell off a neighbor’s shelf then the vapors from the chemicals in the bottle drifted into her house.
My Aunty Tia’s was affected indirectly, yet directly, because her Husband, my Uncle Tom, became very sick and began to very rapidly deteriorate shortly after coming back from Iraq while trying to rebuild after Desert storm. Both Aunties and our families suffered financial ruin and turned the healthier family members into the caretakers for those who were sick. Three different locations and different time periods, all the same outcome from the devastating impacts of “Chemical Trespass”.
“Chemical Trespass” occurs when a chemical is used and intended for a specific area, but becomes air borne and drifts to other places other then its intended location. All of our lives were changed forever almost overnight, and though 9+ years have passed, we all still struggle to rebuild our lives back to the levels we were prior to our chemical exposure. In all 3 cases we were not the person applying the chemicals or the purchaser of the chemicals. We all live very clean, organic lives; one as an organic farmer, another as a healer and another as a spiritual life coach.
In our journey to recovery we’ve all made numerous adjustments to our working and living environments, my Mom and Aunty Clare have had to especially pay attention to their diets (even stricter then before, but now out of necessity), and every day living practices were affected since even the slightest hint of a chemical toxin or mold seemed to affect them. They need specialized health care that for the most part is not covered by regular medical insurance even though they do go to medical doctors that are certified by the AMA.
They both take special shots to withstand the affects of going into public places where people’s perfumes, or chemicals could have devastating affects on their health. When they go into public spaces they have no control of their surrounding so even the slightest exposure to a chemical like a bathroom disinfectant could get them real sick for weeks at a time. Before they had this medicine it was nearly impossible for them to go into public spaces.
In trying to recover to good health, my Mom and Aunty Clare were allowed to work with many experts in the field of environmental medicine, alternative medicine, complimentary medicine, green design for home and garden, & organic agriculture to only name a few. As the years went by and they got better, my Mom and Aunty Clare began noticing many people in their lives were getting sicker and conventional medicine was not getting them well. They began to notice how the most conservative thinking people began looking for non-conventional answers to give them back their health and quality of life. Over time they began sharing what they had learned on their road to recovery and the names of the experts that helped them. Soon they began to see those people having the same positive results they were having.
Over these last 10 years my Mom, Aunty Clare and Aunty Tia noticed more and more people getting mysteriously sick. These same people who were rarely sick began wanting to know how and why theirs and their family’s health was becoming so fragile.

My Organic Mom and GreenTalksS Vision Statement
Our goal at GreentalksS is to bring on guests that can share their profound life experiences that has made them want to participate in creating a model of purposeful sustainable living; one that is in alignment with a divine plan, and in harmony with nature and each other. We call this “Living Pono or E Ola Pono”. “Living Pono” goes beyond green, organic or sustainability, it even goes beyond Organic agriculture. It is going back to a quality of life whereby we live in harmony with nature, where we attract the goodness in life and savor all the good things we have in our life, by slowing down to appreciate even the most insignificant things; like the fluttering of butterfly wings, the fragrance of night jasmine lingering in the air, the love infused in our food prepared by a family member or friend, it’s laughter and joy. It’s valuing beauty in its natural, simplistic and intricate forms, it’s elegant expression and quality in all its forms. It’s taking the time to recognize the magnificent beauty that surrounds us everyday and recognizing the creator of all this beauty. We do not have the luxury not to conserve and not to find our way back to the source of our survival; our Mother, the soil.

GreenTalksS® TV:
GreenTalksS® will begin airing two one hour TV shows a month on Olelo Public Access Television in January 2011.
Our show will touch on practical pono solutions designed to assist Hawaii’s move back into “Living Pono” and in partnership with Hawaii’s rich resources and aina.
Throughout the show there will be clips of Sofee seen listening into the conversation, and sometimes making comments to herself. Later after everyone is gone, Sofee asks her mom questions about what she heard everyone talking about.
Our Product:
“GreentalksS®” will provide 3 avenues of education; through our a public access TV series "My Organic Mom on GreenTalksS and later, on other stations and through the internet, "My Organic Mom- creating a life you love!" (Where Green Chic + Organic Solutions merge for Living Pono / E Ola Pono!) both will feature environmental experts from various areas of sustainable living. This TV show will be centered on projects that continue the evolution of our one acre farm as our "Living Laboratory for Living Pono". Each month one of our experts will provide us with a Topic to Ponder and Live. It will be follow up with manifestations on the subject, through projects on the farm.
My Organic Mom on GreenTalksS, through conversation will focus on Environmental and Sustainable issues that affect Hawaii and provide Organic Solutions to inspire living Pono and affect change.
My Organic Mom- creating a life you love! will focus on actual hands on projects that viewers can follow along with at home.
A 3rd project well begin working on later this year is "120 days to the New You" a video journal/ documentary that includes the various doctors, detoxification techniques, nutrition and menus that is helping Ruth, Clare and a few of their friends re-capture their health and well being.
